But one very popular type of coffee is the Espresso (café espresso). Espresso coffee comes with a high concentration of caffeine solely using high pressure steam to extract an extremely rich and fine, powdery finish. A significant characteristic of the Espresso is its thick consistency than ordinary drip coffee. Correctly brewed espresso has a distinctive factor, the crema.

Crema is a brownish foam that floats on top of the coffee. Its components are sugars, protein, and vegetable oils. It forms as a result of the very high pressure of its brewing process making all the ingredients concentrated. Espresso has approximately twice as much as the caffeine content of ordinary brewed coffee, though it is still considered as one of the consumer’s favorite. Some tips on making an Espresso coffee are using appropriate temperature; tamp pressure and the right amount of ingredients.

Temperature needs to be from 190 – 195 degrees Fahrenheit. Tamp pressure is the amount of force used to compress the coffee beans in the port filter before brewing, generally 30 lbs of tamp pressure. Lastly but certainly as important as the two that were mentioned are the ingredients – mainly the right amount of coffee and water. Espressos are brewed in single and double shots. If brewing a single shot, you will need 7-10 grams of coffee and 12-18 grams for double.

There are so many coffee making tips available and a wide-range of styles and techniques to choose from. Espresso is just one of them. Whether it is hot or cold, concentrated or weak in texture, there are always the proper way to do it. But in the end, it is your own preference; it is your own coffee.
